1. Do I have to be a startup in Healthcare to apply?Not necessarily, as long as your product can be applied for use cases in Healthcare in one of the focused verticals and technologies listed for the program.
  2. Can I apply if am not an India based startup? Absolutely. Lumos is focused on providing Market Access in India, Africa, Middle East, and Southeast Asia. Just keep in mind that the program may require you to be present in Bengaluru, India for a certain period. So, you will need to be able to travel as necessary.
  3. How many members can attend from our startup?A maximum of 3 and minimum of 1 founder needs to be part of the program.
  4. What are the industry sub-verticals that Lumos is focused on?Lumos is focused on Oncology, Fertility, Genomics, Bionics, and Research & Diagnostics. However, we are also open to other emerging sectors.
  5. What are the technologies that Lumos is focused on?Lumos is looking for startups in the following technologies – Remote Monitoring, Artificial Intelligence, Medical Big Data, Predictive Analysis, Self-Testing Medical Devices, Mobile Health, Image Based Pathology, Telehealth, and Blockchain. However, we are also open to other disruptive technologies.
  6. How many companies will be a part of the cohort?We are looking to work with a minimum of 9 companies as part of the Lumos program.
  7. At what stage should companies be to apply to Lumos?Lumos is structured for startups that have achieved a product market fit, can show evidence of early customer traction, and are now looking to scale up.
  8. Will the information in my application be treated as confidential?Your application must include only non-confidential information. All information disclosed to us in your application will be considered non-confidential public information.
  9. Does Lumos own the intellectual property (IP) developed by my company during the Accelerator program?The IP developed by your company along with HCG will be co-owned.

  11. What is the duration and structure of the cohort? Lumos is a 12-month program, however startups are not required to remain onsite in Bengaluru, India for the entire duration. The program will kick off with a boot camp where all participants will get a chance to introduce themselves and build relationships. Following this, there will be 3 months of workshops and seminars that will culminate in a Demo Day, where startups will get the opportunity to present to a room of potential investors and corporate partners. The remainder of the program will be dedicated to executing the partnerships established during the program, as well as raising a round of funding for each startup.
  12. Is there any registration fee?No, there is no registration fee to apply to the program.
  13. Is there an equity stake component or cash grant involved?Yes. Lumos is an Equity program. In exchange for the services, Lumos will take advisory equity in your company, depending on your current funding stage and valuation.
  14. How and when will I know if my proposal is selected?We will be in touch with you during the application process and let you know if you are selected. This would typically happen about 2 to 3 weeks prior to the launch of the cohort.
